Terms & Conditions

OctaSea is an online software service operated by Akdron Consultancy, India. It provides AI-powered career tools for seafarers and maritime professionals. In these Terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Akdron Consultancy, and “you” means the person using OctaSea.

• You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract under Indian law.
• You must use OctaSea for your own career documents and practice, not on behalf of someone else without their permission.

• Give accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date.
• Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
• Tell us straight away at info@octasea.com if you think someone else has used your account.
• You can delete your account at any time from your Profile page.

OctaSea currently offers these tools:

• AI Resume Builder — a step-by-step builder for maritime resumes. Writing it yourself is free; an optional paid upgrade adds AI writing for that resume.
• AI Resume Analyzer — AI reads an uploaded resume and gives an ATS-style score out of 100, section scores and suggestions. Paid per analysis.
• AI Mock Interview — an AI interviewer asks questions for your chosen rank and scores your answers. Paid per interview.
• Resume Sender — an email delivery service that sends your resume and message to the maritime company email addresses on our list and shows the delivery progress. Paid per order.

Each tool's description, price and what it includes are shown before you pay. We may add, change or retire tools; anything you have already paid for will be delivered as described at the time of purchase.

• OctaSea sells software tools and an email delivery service. We do not recruit, place, select or represent seafarers, and we do not act for any shipping company, manning agency or employer.
• We never charge you a fee for a job, and no payment to us is a payment for employment.
• We do not guarantee replies, interviews, job offers or employment. Any hiring decision is made solely by the company concerned.
• If anyone claims to offer you a job “through OctaSea” in exchange for money, it is not us. Please report it to info@octasea.com.

• Our AI tools produce scores, suggestions, written text and interview feedback automatically. They can be incomplete or wrong.
• Scores are our own estimate of how screening software may read a resume. They are not issued or endorsed by any employer or ATS vendor.
• Check everything before you use it. You are responsible for the accuracy of your resume, including ranks, certificates, dates and sea service. Never let the AI add experience or qualifications you don't have.
• AI feedback is for practice and self-improvement. It is not professional, legal or medical advice.

• When you place a Resume Sender order you instruct and authorise us to email the resume, subject and message you provide to every address in the plan you choose.
• Our address list is compiled from publicly available business contact information. We are not affiliated with, and do not represent, the companies on it, and inclusion does not mean they are hiring.
• Some addresses may bounce or be unattended. Delivery to an inbox is not a guarantee that anyone reads or replies.
• Your resume and message must be truthful, belong to you, and must not contain anything unlawful, offensive or misleading. We may refuse or stop an order that breaks these rules.
• Replies go to the email address on your resume. We are not part of any conversation between you and a company.

• All prices are in Indian rupees (INR) and are shown before you pay. The amount shown is the amount charged.
• Payments are processed securely by Razorpay. We do not see or store your full card, UPI or bank details.
• A service is unlocked once the payment is confirmed. If a payment fails, you can retry it on the same order from your account.
• We may change prices for future purchases. A price change never affects an order you have already paid for.

Cancellations and refunds are covered by our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms. When and how each service is delivered is described in our Service Delivery Policy.

You agree not to:

• give false information, impersonate anyone, or upload a resume that isn't yours;
• use OctaSea to send spam, or to send anything unlawful, harmful or misleading;
• try to access other users' data, break our security, or overload or reverse-engineer the service;
• copy, resell or scrape OctaSea's tools, content or company list;
• use the service in any way that breaks Indian law or the law where you live.

You keep ownership of the resumes, text and answers you provide. You give us permission to store and process them only as needed to run the tools you use, as described in our Privacy Policy. Resume text generated for you by the AI Resume Builder is yours to use.

The OctaSea name, logo, website, software, templates, question banks and the company list are owned by Akdron Consultancy and protected by law. You may not reuse them without our written permission.

OctaSea relies on trusted third parties, including Razorpay (payments), Google (optional sign-in), an AI model provider, cloud storage and email delivery providers. Their own terms may apply to the parts of the service they provide.

We work to keep OctaSea available, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or reasons beyond our control. If a paid service can't be delivered because of a fault on our side, our Refund & Cancellation Policy applies.

• OctaSea is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that it will meet your career goals.
• We are not liable for any loss of opportunity, employment, earnings or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss, arising from your use of OctaSea.
• Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service the claim relates to.
• Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.

You agree to compensate us for any claim or loss caused by false information you provided, content you asked us to send, or your breach of these Terms.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms or is used for fraud or abuse. You may stop using OctaSea and delete your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as liability and governing law) survive termination.

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here with a new effective date, and tell you by email or in the app if the change is significant. Continuing to use OctaSea after a change means you accept it.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any complaint. Any dispute that can't be resolved will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Maharashtra, India.

In line with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, you can raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer at info@octasea.com (subject: “Grievance”) or by post at the address below. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days.
